Casein phosphopeptides modulate calcium uptake and apoptosis in Caco2 cells through their interaction with the TRPV6 calcium channel

► In Caco2 cells CPPs interact with the TRPV6 calcium channel to induce calcium uptake. ► CPPs increase the apoptosis of undifferentiated tumor intestinal cells. ► CPPs do not behave as toxic for differentiated Caco2 cells. ► As health promoter for intestinal cells CPPs can be considered functional foods.
