Cytosolic proteome of Kluyveromyces lactis affected by the multidrug resistance regulating transcription factor KlPdr1p

► Multidrug resistance (MDR) - tolerance of cells to unrelated cytotoxic compounds ► Transcription factor KlPdr1p controls MDR in Kluyveromyces lactis. ► We examined the KlPdr1p-dependent changes in K. lactis proteome by 2-DE and MALDI-TOF MS. ► Proteins involved in stress defence and redox homeostasis were upregulated in the presence of KlPdr1p. ► The absence of KlPdr1p positively affected proteins involved in carbohydrate metabolism.
