Glucose-responsive insulin delivery microhydrogels from methacrylated dextran/concanavalin A: Preparation and in vitro release study

► Insulin-loaded microhydrogels were prepared using Dex-G and Con A-E. ► Insulin release was reversibly in response to different glucose concentrations. ► The released insulin remained active without destroyed the tertiary structure. ► These microhydrogels possessed noncytotoxicity.
