Direct hydrolysis of cellulose to glucose using ultra-high temperature and pressure steam explosion

► Ultra-high temperature and pressure steam explosion can convert cellulose to glucose. ► 33.3% of glucose yield was obtained from steam-exploded MC at 62 atm and 1 min. ► 41.0% of glucose yield was obtained from steam-exploded BEMCOT at 60 atm and 1 min.
