Compositional homogeneity in a medical-grade stainless steel sintered with a Mn-Si additive

► Local chemical composition in a sintered stainless steel was studied. ► Due to sintering at 1000 °C, no dissociation of additive particles occurs. ► Sintering at 1050 °C provides a uniform chemical composition.
