Magnetoresistance studies of MeV ranged 1H+ and 12C+ ion irradiated HOPG flakes

► Magnetoresistance (MR) studies of MeV ranged H and C ion irradiated Graphite. ► Hysteresis in the MR data and lowering of MR post ion irradiation. ► Large MR value in the case of thinner sample for B field along the c axis. ► MR results substantiate ferromagnetic coupling between ion induced defects. ► The defect separation range has a preferred window for ferromagnetic coupling.
