Magnetic and dielectric studies of multiferroic CuO nanoparticles confined to porous glass

► CuO nanoparticles embedded into porous glass compared to bulk. ► ZFC and FC magnetizations bifurcate in the nanocomposite and bulk CuO. ► Dc magnetization suggests a reduction of the temperature TN1 till about 190 K. ► Temperature TN2 of the transition into multiferroic phase did not change.
