Chimeric hexon HVRs protein reflects partial function of adenovirus

► Adenovirus HVRs proteins expressed in Escherichia coli were in an oligomerization state. ► HVRs protein had the ability to bind adenovirus neutralizing antibodies. ► We showed that fraction of Ad5-specific NAbs were directed against HVR5 and 7. ► HVRs protein had consistent affinity for FX with hexon and adenovirus serotype.
