Inhibition of fatty acid translocase cluster determinant 36 (CD36), stimulated by hyperglycemia, prevents glucotoxicity in INS-1 cells

► Hyperglycemia increased FFA levels of INS-1 cell via induced CD36. ► CD36 exacerbate glucotoxicity of INS-1 cell. ► Suppression of CD36 reverse insulin secretion of beta-cell. ► Inhibition of CD36 has a protective role in beta-cell injury from glucotoxicity.
