Transdifferentiation of tadpole pancreatic acinar cells to duct cells mediated by Notch and stromelysin-3

► Stromelysin-3 is up regulated genes in the exocrine pancreas at metamorphosis of X. laevis tadpoles. ► Expressing stromelysin-3 in the exocrine pancreas induces acinar to duct cell transformation. ► Expressing activated Notch in the exocrine pancreas by transgenesis gives the identical result.
