Electroporation of a multivalent DNA vaccine cocktail elicits a protective immune response against anthrax and plague

► We evaluated the efficacy of a multi-agent DNA vaccine delivered by electroporation. ► The DNA vaccines encoded anthrax and plague antigens and elicited a Th1/Th2 response. ► Complimentary recombinant protein vaccines with alum elicited a Th2 response. ► The multi-agent vaccines were protective against anthrax and plague. ► Electroporation delivers and maintains the efficacy of an anthrax-plague DNA vaccine.
