SmBa0.5Sr0.5Cu2O5+δ and SmBa0.5Sr0.5CuFeO5+δ layered perovskite oxides as cathodes for IT-SOFCs

► We investigated cobalt-free SBSCO and SBSCFO perovskites as cathodes for IT-SOFC. ► The TECs of SBSCO and SBSCFO were much lower than cobalt-based cathodes. ► The conductivity of SBSCO and SBSCFO had been improved. ► Polarization resistances of SBSCO and SBSCFO were twice lower than SmBaCu2O5+δ.
