Study of microstructural evolution in friction-stir welded thin-sheet Al–Cu–Li alloy using transmission-electron microscopy

Microstructure evolution in friction-stir welded thin-sheet Al–Cu–Li alloy was studied using transmission-electron microscopy (TEM) and the dissolution and coarsening of T1 and θ′ precipitates were related to the microhardness profile of the weld.
