Magnetic field direction and temperature dependences of rearrangement of crystallographic domains in an antiferromagnetic CoO

► We found that CoO is a new candidate for the magnetostrictive material. ► We confirmed the rearrangement of crystallographic domains (martensite variants). ► The rearrangement depends on temperature and magnetic field direction. ► They can be explained by magnetic shear stress and twinning stress.
