An approach to carbon control of sintering furnace atmosphere: theory and practice

This paper will discuss technologies available to improve and stabilize the furnace atmosphere by controlling the carbon content. It will also specifically discuss SINTERFLEX1 Atmosphere Control System (ACS), a real time active carbon control system, and the results of its first trial in Megamet Solid Metals, a metal injection-molded parts (MIM) manufacturer located in St. Louis, MO.
