• A cost management platform of the nuclear fuel cycle facility was designed.
• The design requirement mode and cost mode is divided into 4 stages of requirements.
• The mass balance requirements related to the main process was defined.

A cost management platform, based on the design requirements of a nuclear fuel cycle facility to draw the optimal design method for minimizing the pyroprocessing cost, and to support an economic feasibility analysis, was designed. Cost management schema to maintain the cost management platform systematically was designed and implemented.The cost management platform is implemented to operate the design requirement and cost modes of the nuclear fuel cycle facility separately. Through this schema, we made the data attribute values of the design requirement mode, and the data structure of cost mode, and defined the relationship between two modes. The design requirement mode is divided into highest-level, system level, sub-system level, and component level, and the cost mode is also divided into 4 stages of requirements. To test the normal traceability of the cost management platform of the designed nuclear cycle facility, we defined the mass balance requirements related to the main process, targeting the PyRoprocessing Integrated inactive Demonstration (PRIDE) facility, and conducted a relationship test between the design requirements and cost modes, by selecting the fuel rod chopping to cut off the fuel rod within the head-end process cell.As a result of this test, we confirmed the exact coincidence between the design cost of the fuel rod chopping in cost mode, and the design requirements of this equipment. With this, we were able to establish a systematic management basis of the design requirements and cost information of the nuclear fuel cycle facility under an integrated environment. The cost management platform based on the nuclear fuel cycle facility will be a useful tool for quick decision-making, based on reliable data, when planning or changing the design of nuclear fuel cycle facility. Moreover, this platform will be utilized in the following areas in the future: Sodium Fast Reactor (SFR) nuclear fuel fabrication facility, waste disposal facility, and decontamination/decommissioning areas.
