Novel fluorine-free electrolyte system for supercapacitors

Borate complexes of chelating biphenols can be employed as electrolytes for supercapacitors. The tetraalkylammonium salts exhibit splendid stabilities in the reductive region whereas high oxidative potentials cause some limitations.
