A new secular equation for slip waves along the interface of two dissimilar anisotropic elastic half-spaces in sliding contact

► Secular equations for Rayleigh Waves, slip waves and Rayleigh/slip waves in anisotropic elastic half-space are presented. ► We then consider interfacial slip waves in two anisotropic elastic half-spaces that are in sliding contact. ► One secular equation is obtained for the interfacial slip wave that covers all other special cases. ► The results for general anisotropic materials are applied to orthotropic materials.
