During the chemical bath electro deposition processes, a thermodynamical equilibrium is modified. In the present work, the considered electrochemical reaction modifies the local pH value, particularly at the electrode interface. Its increase leads to deposition of metal oxide films at electrode. Because many phenomena, mechanical transport, homogeneous and heterogeneous, chemical and electrochemical, occur during the considered process, it is always difficult to establish process performances. In the case of a perturbation from thermodynamical equilibrium, it is no longer possible to use thermodynamical equilibrium calculations. Both transport and reactive kinetics must be considered, and the numerical calculation is the privileged way. Because of the numerous species and reactions, it is often difficult to choose a correct description. In the present work, a metal oxide deposition at a rotating electrode is considered. A realistic simplification of the chemical–electrochemical reactive phenomena is proposed and evaluated. The results of the simplified model are presented and used in the particular example of the zinc oxide deposition to identify its kinetic properties.
