Photophysical behavior of poly(propyl ether imine) dendrimer in the presence of nitroaromatic compounds

► Inherent photoluminescence property of poly(ether imine) (PETIM) dendrimer is studied. ► Fluorescence quenching of the dendrimer occurs in the presence of aromatic nitro-compounds. ► Lifetimes of the dendrimer luminescent species are un-affected with nitrophenols. ► Nitrobenzenes show a marginal change in the lifetimes of the dendrimer luminescent species. ► Raman spectra show significant change for the host-guest complex with nitrobenzenes.
