Fire behavior characteristics of buffelgrass-fueled fires and native plant community composition in invaded patches

► Buffelgrass is invading arid regions around the world and increasing fuel loads. ► Fire behaviors were measured in four buffelgrass-fueled prescribed fires. ► Observed fire behaviors were greater than observed in other fire behavior studies. ► As buffelgrass increases these fires threaten the survival of native species.
