Adsorption of mono- and di-butyltin by a wheat charcoal: pH effects and modeling

► Acid dissociation constants (pKa) were estimated for MBT and DBT. ► The adsorption of MBT and DBT strongly depends on pH. ► MBT and DBT adsorption is governed by ionic exchange and hydrophobic interactions. ► A model for predicting MBT and DBT adsorption to charcoal is presented.
