Reconstruction of Holocene coastal foredune progradation using luminescence dating - An example from the Świna barrier (southern Baltic Sea, NW Poland)

► Holocene coastal foredunes (southern Baltic Sea) were dated by OSL. ► Change in foredune progradation dynamic occurred after 800 AD. ► Dating reveals six hiatuses within foredune progradation. ► The timing of hiatuses correlates with phases of enhanced aeolian activity. ► Four hiatuses probably correlate with general climatic shifts during the Holocene.
