Early Miocene fluvial-lacustrine and swamp vegetation of La Rinconada mine (Ribesalbes-Alcora basin, Eastern Spain)

► The plant macroremains from Ramblian?-lower Aragonian age of La Rinconada mine (Spain) are studied.. ► We have identified a total of 31 species of vascular plants. ► An azonal broadleaved deciduous forest with some evergreen and coniferous taxa was predominant. ► Alnus adscendens and Acer vindobonense have been identified in sediments of the Early Miocene age. ► Similar vegetation has been found in the Lower Miocene of Central Europe and Turkey.
