Corporate investment, government control, and financing channels: Evidence from China's Listed Companies

► We investigate the relations between capital investment and internal cash flows. ► We find that the relation is U-shaped. ► Government controlled firms have a more sensitive cash flow-investment relation. ► The government control relation is most pronounced when investment opportunities are poor.
