Employing a C,N-chelate makes organotin(IV) nitrates and nitrites exceptionally stable

A series of C,N-chelated organotin(IV) nitrates and nitrites has been prepared and structurally characterized. Organotin(IV) nitrites exhibit remarkable stability towards oxidation due to the incorporation of the C,N-chelating ligand. First crystal structures of both tri- and diorganotin(IV) nitrites are reported.155
