Evolution of aromatic prenyltransferases in the biosynthesis of indole derivatives

A group of prenyltransferases, which catalyse the regular and reverse prenylations of indole derivatives, was identified in the fungal genomes and characterised biochemically. Their evolutionary relationship to each other and to other aromatic prenyltransferases was discussed.
