Preparative separation of menthol and pulegone from peppermint oil (Mentha piperita L.) by high-performance counter-current chromatography

- A very convenient separation method of the six terpenoids from peppermint oil by HPCCC is proposed.
- It can be used for the purification of menthol and also for the removal of potentially toxic pulegone.
- The method can be easily scaled-up for industrial purposes.
