Polygonflavanol A, a novel flavonostilbene glycoside from the roots of Polygonum multiflorum

► A novel flavonostilbene glycoside and five known stilbenes were isolated from Polygonum multiflorum. ► The absolute configuration of the new flavonostilbene glycoside was established by a combination of NMR and a CD method. ► A new flavonostilbene skeleton has been established. ► Polygonflavanol A is the first natural example of flavonostilbene glycoside.
