Reappraising a decade old explanatory model for pharmacognosy

Here the previous explanatory model for research in pharmacognosy is expanded to include aspects of “informatics”. Examples of how approaches in systems biology, phylogenetic analysis and chemoinformatics can (and should) be applied are discussed in the paper.
