New cytotoxic alkylbenzoquinone derivatives from leaves and stem of Ardisia kivuensis (Myrsinaceae)

► Isolation and structure elucidation of five new alkylbenzoquinone derivatives. ► The compounds showed cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activity. ► Ardisiaquinone L was less toxic compared to other compounds and to actinimycin D used as reference.
