Biomimic transformation of resveratrol

Resveratrol was treated with several kinds of peroxidases and inorganic reagents so as to prepare ε-viniferin. Thallium(III) nitrate in methanol gave (±)-ε-viniferin in good yield. On the other hand, peroxidases did not lead to ε-viniferin.
