Porphyrins with exocyclic rings. Part 20: Synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of porphyrins with fused 2,1,3-benzoxadiazole and 2,1,3-benzoselenadiazole moieties

Syntheses of oxa- and selenadiazoloporphyrins from pyrroles with fused heterocyclic units are reported. The nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) derivatives show strong absorptions from 600 to 625 nm.
