Oxidative deprotection of trimethylsilyl ethers under solvent-free conditions using K2S2O8 in the presence of catalytic amount of [bmim]Br

Potassium persulfate in the presence of a catalytic amount of ionic liquid [bmim]Br under solvent-free conditions is used as an efficient and convenient method for oxidative cleavage of trimethylsilyl ethers to the corresponding carbonyl compounds.
