Plasmon-enhanced luminescence of Sm complex using silver nanoparticles in Polyvinyl Alcohol

► Sm complex with Ag nanoparticles in PVA was prepared at room temperature. ► UV-vis absorption and XRD confirms the presence of Sm complex and Ag NPs. ► Enhancement in luminescence of complex was observed with Ag NPs. ► Coupling between radiative transitions of Sm and SPR of NPs enhances the emission. ► The higher concentration of Ag NPs quenches the luminescence of the complex.
