Photophysical properties of fluorescent PMMA/SiO2 nanohybrids for solar energy applications

► Fluorescent PMMA/SiO2 nanohybrids were prepared and studied. ► Adding small amounts of hydrophilic SiO2 nanoparticles to PMMA enhances its optical properties. ► These hybrids are promising matrices for luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs).
