Enhanced photon harvesting in silicon multicrystalline solar cells by new lanthanide complexes as light concentrators

► In present study we synthesized four new europium complexes with enhanced luminescent emission. ► Complexes are used as alternative materials for spectral sensitization of Si solar cells. ► Promising results are obtained with a 28% increase in the overall efficiency of the solar cells.
