Enhancing upconversion emissions of NaTm0.02YbxY0.98−xF4 nanocrystals through increasing Yb3+ doping

► UC emissions of Tm3+ in NaYF4 can be enhanced by increasing Yb3+ ions. ► Blue emissions have higher enhancement than NIR. ► Analysis of steady-state equations is in good agreement with the experimental results.
