Synthesis and properties of fluorescent hybrid nanocomposites based on copolyacrylates with dansyl semicarbazide units

► Dansylated hybrid composites were prepared by polymerization of monomers in organo-MMT or by sol-gel. ► Quenching effects by acids, Cu2+ and nitrobenzene in solution/film were evidenced. ► A fluorescence dequenching was observed for the composite with silsesquixane units. ► A reversible process occurs in the composite film exposed to nitrobenzene vapors.
