Some recent developments in quantum Monte Carlo for electronic structure: Methods and application to a bio system

A brief review of recent advances in quantum Monte Carlo for the electronic structure of molecules at the University of California, Berkeley, is given based on an invited talk presented at the WATOC meeting, Cape Town, South Africa, January 2005.
