Le conjoint, un tuteur de résilience pour une personne atteinte de la maladie d'Alzheimer

The role of family caregivers is now well recognized: they help people suffering from a neurodegenerative disease to remain at home, compensating for their loss of autonomy. Patients and their caregivers may feel distress, and sometimes well-being. Our work uses a qualitative research approach, based on a clinical case study. We analyze Mrs. P.'s situation, assisted by her husband. Our study shows that Alzheimer's disease is a trauma for both wife and husband, as well as for their relationship. Mrs. P. exhibits a resilient decline, and we observe a process of resilience in her relationship with her husband. Mr. P. also shows himself to be resilient, and he clearly appears as a tutor of resilience for his wife.
