Formation of bromophenoxy radicals from complete series reactions of bromophenols with H and OH radicals

► We studied the complete series reactions of 19 BPs congeners with H and OH radicals. ► We investigated the formation of the bromophenoxy radicals (BPRs) theoretically. ► The ortho bromine increases strength of O-H bond in BPs and decreases its reactivity. ► The phenoxyl-hydrogen abstraction from BPs by OH is more efficient than H radicals.
