The effects of dietary nickel on the detoxification enzymes, innate immunity and resistance to the fungus Beauveria bassiana in the larvae of the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella

► Low dose of Ni increases detoxification enzymes activity and immunity reactions. ► There is no effect of the low dose of Ni on the resistance of the insects against the fungus. ► Sublethal Ni increases GST, esterases activity and encapsulation rate but decreases PO activity. ► Sublethal Ni enhances immunity but the resistance against the real pathogen reduced.
