Multi-criteria analysis towards the new end use of recycled water for household laundry: A case study in Sydney

► Management alternatives on recycled water for washing machines were proposed. ► A quantitative multi-criteria analysis (MCA) over the five alternatives was conducted. ► Man-made errors of single fixed set of weights were reduced via Monte Carlo simulation. ► The use of highly treated recycled water for existing and new washers was addressed. ► More detailed field investigations on selected options should be further performed.
