The application of Rapid Scan data to the Convective Rainfall Rate algorithm from SAF NWC for the area of the Czech Republic

► 5 min radar and MSG data improved the shape and increased values of rain rates in the calibration matrices. ► Resultant SPEs better correspond to the observation. ► Slightly better results were reached for the 15- and 20-minute time shifts of radar data.
