Rate based modeling for CO2 absorption using monoethanolamine solution in a hollow fiber membrane contactor

► The rate based model is developed to predict the CO2 absorption by MEA solution. ► The CO2 flux of PTFE membrane can be predicted without using a fitting parameter. ► The model well predicts the flux of PVDF membrane under partially-wetted mode condition. ► The proposed model is most sensitive to the value of Henry's constant. ► The absorption regime changes when the membrane is partially wetted.
