Analytical solutions for membrane wetting calculations based on log-normal and normal distribution functions for CO2 absorption by a hollow fiber membrane contactor

► The analytical solution for calculating an average wetting ratio is presented. ► Normal and log-normal pore size distribution are considered. ► The proposed calculation can predict the operation mode along fiber. ► Experiments on CO2 absorption by MEA and water were performed. ► Log-normal function showed good prediction of wetting ratio for all conditions.
