Detecting aflatoxin B1 in foods and feeds by using sensitive rapid enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and gold nanoparticle immunochromatographic strip

► Sensitive cdELISA executed within 15 min was established to determine aflatoxins. ► On-site detecting aflatoxins by immunostrip with a detection limit of 2.0 ng/ml was developed. ► Six (17%) of examined samples exceed the level of 20 ng/g suggested by US-FDA. ► We found the coffee and red yeast rice samples were contaminated with aflatoxins. ► The study provides evidence for possible exposure risk to aflatoxins in Taiwan population.
