Catalytic performance and characterization of Ni-Co catalysts for the steam reforming of biomass tar to synthesis gas

► The optimized Ni-Co/Al2O3 showed high performance in the steam reforming of biomass tar. ► The Ni and Co atoms were mixed well to form the Ni-Co solid solution alloy. ► Synergy between Ni and Co is suggested to be effective to the steam reforming of oxygenates.
