Research in child and adolescent psychiatry is subject to many constraints that inhibit its creativity and development. They are political, ideological, administrative but also intrinsically ethical and moral. It is the topic of the research itself that is possibly at the origin of these constraints: the child in a situation of vulnerability and handicap. There is also opposition between researchers, academic services and sector practitioners. To promote research, protocols respecting the ethics of practitioners and responding to gaps into the field must be considered. In this paper, we present two examples of multi-centric clinical studies designed from this perspective and which allowed answering questions in shortcomings around the practices. The result of the study of their impact in terms of the evolution of representations of clinical research in the field shows that thinking hypothesis; design and methods of clinical research that adapts to the needs in the field practice can be an opportunity for child and adolescent psychiatry.
